2. Information We Collect

To provide the resume building service, we collect:

• Email address — to identify your account and deliver your session link.
• Resume file — the PDF or Word document you upload for AI processing.
• Job description — the text you paste for AI resume optimization.
• Generated content — the AI-created resume, cover letter, and ATS report we produce for you.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never store your card number, CVV, or full payment details.
• Usage data — pages visited, browser and device info, collected via Google Analytics (optional, cookie-dependent).

3. How We Use Your Information

• To generate your AI-optimized resume, cover letter, and ATS keyword report.
• To store your generated files so you can download them (paid users) or preview them (free users).
• To send your session magic link to authenticate your account.
• To process your payment and deliver download access.
• To send transactional emails (e.g., download confirmation, job application acknowledgment).
• To improve our service through aggregated, anonymized usage analysis.

We do not use your resume data to train AI models. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your uploaded resume and generated files are stored securely on Vercel Blob storage with encrypted access. Database records are stored on Vercel Postgres (powered by Neon). All data transmissions use HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Access to your stored files uses signed, time-limited URLs. We implement access controls to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Third-Party Processors

• Stripe — Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI resume generation. Your resume and job description are sent to Anthropic's API to generate output. Anthropic does not retain this data for training.
• Resend — Email delivery for magic links and notifications.
• Google Analytics — Website analytics (optional, requires cookie consent).
• Vercel — Hosting and file storage infrastructure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address, resume records, and generated files for up to 12 months of account inactivity. After that, records may be purged. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@upskillingnow.com.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

Email your request to support@upskillingnow.com. We respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies (required for authentication and session management) and optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics). You can accept or decline analytics cookies through the banner shown on your first visit. Declining does not affect your ability to use the service.

9. Children's Privacy

UpSkillingNow is intended for adults (18+) seeking employment. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of UpSkillingNow after changes constitutes acceptance.
